Standing Abs Workouts
Almost every lift, sprint, carry, and athletic movement you perform happens in a standing position. Think about it. The abs aren’t bending the spine over and over when you’re doing a Barbell Back Squat. They’re maintaining alignment while force is produced through the arms and legs. That upright demand is what keeps your posture intact. There’s nothing wrong with doing core exercises on the floor. But if you’re only doing floor-based core work, it might explain why your core strength isn’t showing up where you need it most.
